Well first of all, when I wrote that post I thought the whole thing was a pretty big speculation but I was grasping for something to build on (seems to me that's the hardest thing about getting started -- making a non-random decision with little-to-no information.)

Secondly, please pardon my total forum-noobishness but what is instant update and how do I do it?

Subscribe to the thread. Do that under "Thread Tools" which is up near the top, and set it up under your UCP options to get e-mail when the thread updates. Set your forum e-mail account to your hotmail and log into MSN Messenger. It'll notify you when a post is made.

Okay, so I said what my gut was. Mesden's thing seemed a bit odd, but the fact that you were arguing that she said 9 and not 8 makes you look suspicious secretskull. Though I think things are different, so I will leave it at that.

I'm inclined to believe that the mention of 8 was simply because of a belief that the one cult initiate who starts in the game is the one recruited by the cult leader in the first night. I thought the same myself. Could you clarify this for us Fenris?

Now, lynching at random has a one in three chance of getting a threat to the town (or 3 in 8 if there are three cultists in total).

Now, calling attention to yourself like IHMN has is generally not a good move. However, given the possibility it is a bluff to get suspicion off him, I think it's the best we have to go on for now. For this reason:

I don't know about IHMN...seems like he's just a townie trying to get some kicks out of this game. Having some fun you know. Isn't that why we're all playing this game?

And if he DOES have a role, it would probably be PO since he can't really have fun with it now that the BG is dead.

Edit: To keep down on spam and posting right after Fenris when I have the post before him seems redundant.

Another thought that occured to me from Fenris's post about the cult and working in a little with Elbodo's speculation, IHMN might be the cult initiate and possibly trying to skew any cult victory by having himself killed off. Possibly getting a role he didn't want? Works in with the PO too if he got a role he didn't want, since he just rando-killed as the VIG in the first game right?
