B_real: I did not say that anything that is not a lynch vote is a waste of time. I said that anything that is not lynching is a waste of time. There is a difference. In the very excerpt that you quoted (and I'm now wondering whether or not you read all of it or if you misinterpreted me intentionally) I included "accusation and defense" as part of the process of deciding who to lynch.

The point was not to counsel haste but to say that anything that is not related to the discussion of that decision (=anything that is not lynching) is a waste of time.

Admittedly, I ought to have conceded that fluff is both neccessary and inevitable on Day 1 (to a point) while we try to prod one another into a revelation of scumminess. Beyond that, however, it is simply in the way.

True. Maybe someone else can do it; I'm just wondering why IHMN stopped getting voted for, and why no one has taken another shot at him. I'm a little bit suspicious, but not enough for anything more than, "Hey, why did this happen?" And IHMN stands out to me sometimes.

Now if we were to all just lynch right off the bat each day, since anything else would be a waste of time, then we'd be more susceptible to mafia intervention then since we, as a town, aren't thinking things through enough to say "hey, you know, lynching (insert name here) seems a bit too hasty and the reasons against him are a bit weak" and poof, there goes a mafiate and we're 3 people closer to losing to the snitchs. (1 for the lynch, 1 Snitched, and one vigilante'ed[discounting SK since he's dead]).

Also notice that I'm mostly referring to the bolded part of your post. Which although is there, it sticks out like a sore thumb in your post. Whereas the "Accusation and Defense", of that very same excerpt, does not and is MUCH less noticeable, with or without the bolding, hence why I missed it.

Also note that you said "anything that isn't LYNCHING is a waste of time." What it means in the precise context of that statement is that the person is being lynched. Not being voted for, accused, and so forth, but killed off, rather quickly at that.

And Ecurt's posts were for the most part, all fluff. And if you remember, he had a role, that could help us. It could also hurt us if he got Fenris's (the then unknown PO) name on night 1 and thought him to be a mafiate and thus killed him off. Of course his role works both ways, but still, he didn't do anything more incriminating than what IHMN or IC have been doing at the beginning of each game. Having some fun.

That an your nonsensical accusations of IHMN for the actions of other players make me very suspicious. If you'd had actual evidence based on something IHMN had done, that would've been one thing, but to ask him to defend everyone else's actions? You didn't actually make a valid accusation against IHMN untill Roy repeatedly called you on it.

Actually, across the three Mafia games I've played / am playing, I've been suspicious of IHMN in all three. :p But I'm learning to live with it.

Elbodo. Here's the thing, You know IHMN does that (be silly) but yet you don't vote for him despite finding him suspicious, even when he CONTINUES to do so AFTER the first day. Several other people continue to be silly, you don't vote for them. Hell, other people are more deserving of a vote than Ecurt ever was.

Usually humor is used to shift attention away from someone/get on people's good sides. Ecurt used it in the opposite fashion, to draw attention to himself. Why? because he felt that votes were easily piling up on him and it was his way of bringing that to the attention of everyone. It could have also been a ploy to take out several people with him. We didn't know at the time, mostly because we just didn't have anyone better to vote for.

So what I'm getting at here is, you voted for someone, and neglected to see the signs of votes piling up on him. You voted all too hastily as many others did. And lastly, I fail to see you adequately defending yourself.

I've carefully read through the posts, and made quiet judgements on everything I could; I honestly beleive that Cephrir is a townie. IHMN, however, I am not sure on. He's never leaned one way or the other, and I want to be upfront about him, in that I have NO idea how to read him. He's random and nonsensical. Elbodo I don't understand that well, but B_real made a very compelling arguement, which is why I decided to cast my vote, despite my reservations.

Besides, hasn't IHMN been online, had a chance to check, then NOT responded to my question?

[edit] and I'd wanted to hear Cephrir make a defense, although now that I've read carefully, I'm very certain of him being a Townie.

Elbodo's defense does not satisfy me. Actually, it's not really so much of a defense as "Look at IHMN!" His vote for Ecurt had no reason, although that is applicable to others, the only two living being Roy and Nikose, but his style during this game is more than intriguing.
