Because of Playstation 3 and Xbox360 launch quantities, they got super paranoid and most stores limited the number of pre-orders to what they got for the PS3.

I don't know how things go in your town, but around here the big chains like Wal-Mart and Best Buy don't do console reserves. It's first-come, first-serve when the thing goes on sale at midnight, and waiting in line in front of the store for hours on end is permissible. That's how I ended up doing things for the Gamecube and 360-hanging out outside of Wal-Mart until midnight.

I live near one of the largest Wal*Marts in the nation.

And nobody around here is into gaming all that much.

I have no problems with waiting to get my Wii at launch instead of pre-ordering.

I won't be able to get a Wii until after Christmas, but that is not due to me not trying to preorder. It's just the minor difficulty of going to Wal-Mart or GameStop when one lives approximately 15 hours by plane away from the US.

Me and my friends had been waiting for this for awhile now, so I was hyped up. For some reason we had school off that day (and we also have the entire week when the Wii comes out off, I will not sleep that entire week) so I woke up early, and woke one of my friends up early, we drove out to a gamestop, and realized (We were idiots and thought that only we wanted a wii) that other people were waiting too. Luckily there were only a few people here, so we just had to wait around for an hour.

The bad part came when I heard that there were only fourteen at the store. I was twelve, a person was behind me and I knew that five more of my friends were coming to the same location. Then three of them came in one car. I recommended a battle to the death, they decided the person who drove got it. So they had to run to the mall across the street and hope no one was there. Last I heard, none of them got one.

Besides the system itself, I reserved Zelda, Trauma Center, and an extra wiimote and nunchuk.

Sir, if this is true, I will go out, buy a hat and a digital camera (I may "borrow" the camera, but if so, not from the haberdasher), and eat the hat while I make Mike take pictures.

My local store is recieveing 36 pre-orderable Wiis. And come Friday only 8 people pre-ordered. Puerto Rico apparently is filled with Sony fanboys seeing that the 20 PS3 slots sold out in ten minues and no one went to pre-order Wiis. And all this about selling out, remember Best Buy, Walmart and other super stores will have tons of units (my neighbor is the manager of the local Walmart) A few EBstops here say that they are letting a few get pre-ordered and leave the rest of the shipment to camp-outs and others. My store a the very least is preparing for te Black Friday onslaught that will happen. Too bad though, for the first time in ten years they decided to remodel the store and its gonna get destroyed already (Im going by what happened in 2001)
