Oh yeah for future refrence I just pulled of what Ivy's as we call it in the Arcades where i live a "one punch" which pretty much means a one punch machine gun like in snatch. A move so powerful it change the course of a game. Of course its freaking hard to do and and it's impossible to do unless in the right situation. But what i actually came to talk about is what i like to call the ninja insanity combo for yoshimitsu this is what the first place guy did.
First Move Ninja Blade Rush (as its called in SC1) Second Move teleport Third Move Ninja Blade Rush Fourth Move Teleport Fifth Move Ninja Blade Rush... you can go on like this if you do it right for a while i think soe of you migh like it Oh Must do classic Cervantes Quote GOT YOU!!! there i am done whew Last edited by Exoduselder; 02-18-2004 at 12:00 AM. |

I usualy prefer the characters with the longer ranged weapons, Mitsurugi with the Sashmir or the Masamune was good, but the guy with the staff or the girl with the Halbreds were also good. my roommate is really good with Talim.
i thought it was an alright game, but i could only play it for a while before i got tired of it. never really was a big fighting game guy.

I love Taki, she can do unlimited combos. I also like necrid, talim, cervantes, Raphael, and Xianghua.
PS cheapest person, Mitsurugi (I think with Soul Calibur) If can find a way to beat that tell me |

My 8 man team has continually dominated my oposition, and it's constructed like so:
Talim - Blazing fast, with the right series of combos, can make simply getting to your feet an exercise in frustration Kilik - The staff thrust and the face slap are amazingly painful, but so is the shots he takes at the opponent's crotch Nightmare - With just basic Soul Edge I use an infinite hit combo to drop my enemies. Raphael - Untouchable. That's all I can say. He's just untouchable. Learn to use the auto-dodges and you'll see what I mean Sophitia - Fast, Graceful, and painful. Heaven's Judgement can pulled off from four different moves, making for long painful aerial combos Ivy - Worth it just for the distance attacks. HINT: If your enemy is right up in your face, use the long-range one to throw them across the field and relieve them of about 33% of the health bar. Seung Mina - See Kilik Yunsung - Mop up guy. Moves fast and some moves pass through regular blocks. This above team is undefeated with a record of 32-0 My personal favorites Are Raphael, Nightmare, and Talim. |

To those of you who are undefeated, you are either playing the computer on easy, or you aren't playing any of your friends who are good at it.
I have a three man ultimate team too, its just that my friend's three man ultimate team is just as ultimate. Mine (in order) Xianghua, Ivy, Link; my friend': Nightmare, Mitsurugi, Maxi. Soul Calibur is great because the fighting styles are really different between characters yet it is near perfectly balanced (with a slight advantage in the direction of Cervantes and Necrid) And I have never been able to pull off Calamity Symphony, Ivy's ultimate move.

My favorite so far is probably Nightmare... But I'm also currently only playing the demo that has Nightmare and one girl, so I don't have much choice... (I do plan on getting it when my funds are looking a bit better...)

I have pulled off Ivy's special throws, Calamity Symphony and Summon Suffering, by rotation the joystick clockwise three times and grabbing. However, If I tried that in real competition, I'd probably have sword in my face. I don't like how computers can just hit 'grab' and do it automatically...but that's why the is much smackdown to be layed, and I always aim to please

I use Taki, Ivy, Xianqiua, Kilik, Mitsurugi, Link and various others when bored. But I'm best wth Link and Taki.
However, they took out my favorite character in Soul Calibur II, Hwang. That shortened the gaming life of that game for me. Also, the mission mode was alot longer, but seemed more daunting and pointless which brought the game pretty much to a halt after I finished Mission Mode. Other factors I can't quite place made me stop playing it, where I am now going back to DOA, Smash Bros, CvsSNK2 and KOF2001 at random. Don't knw what it is, but I just stopped playing SCII.

For me, it's all about the range. Why put the effort of getting in someones face, when you can just crack a whip in their face instead? My prime characters are Ivy, Yoshimitsu, Nightmare and Astaroth. It's funny though, with Astaroth, I barely throw. I mostly use my axe. Which I DESTROY people with. The only time I'll use throws is against Voldo or Talim, when they're nice and close. Then, they are teh d00m3d.
