To be honest I thought at least one person around here could follow Bayesian probability. Plus I like to explain because explaining is fun.

Really it doesn't matter at this point because I'm not asking anyone to vote differently because of it. However, it should be noted that as information becomes available it will start to become more useful. Though at that point there might be better information to use in terms of actions of people.

Sithdarth ALWAYS pulls out math stuff. I think he's not having fun unless every third letter is a number. Heck, in the avvy RPs his character was based on physics theories. That's why he's the best person to ask ever if you have any kind of problem which might even touch upon math.

No amount of spouting numbers (arbitrary or otherwise) is going to make me believe that you can have even the remotest idea of who is scum based on their placement on the list, when the list is determined by a random number generator or a similar process.

Unfortunately, this bandwagon is growing far too quickly for my liking. Quicklynches are bad. Unless there's a confirmed sane cop with a guilty on someone. Which there isn't.

Edit due to ninja: I am fully aware that Sithdarth always tries to apply math to this game, but I don't believe I've ever had to deal with it myself, and I am finding that it doesn't really make sense outside the realm of theory. I suppose this may not be indicative of alignment so much as wrongness, but there's no way for me to know that.

Sithdarth doesn't always try to apply math to this game; Sithdarth is math and every time he plays this game he applies himself to it.

Its not about their placement on their list. I randomly chose three people with the yaplet random number generator and then picked one just cause. Its exactly the same as having just chosen one at random really. The difference comes in that IF information comes to light about one of the three random selections Bayesian probability increases the chances that the remaining ones were correct. Its strange but it does work.
