...wait, what?
Gau's a powerhouse when you first get him - and continues to be so if you bother to manage his Rages at all. In any case, it's a pity you can't name Interceptor. Then again, Seymour would still be a letter too long. |

You're talking to the guy that went through and collected EVERY rage form available in the game. I use the shit out of that little monster, but it's been my experience that nobody has the patience (read: addictive personality) necessary to get the most out of his awesomeness.

Gau should be named Douche.
Alternately: D-bag.

Not Appearing In This Film could work as NAITF.
You're not using the whole "Sir Not Appearing In This Film" but I say fuck it, we're all just having fun with the text anyway, any time NAITF just think of the whole "Sir Not Appearing In This Film" phrase. EDIT: Slightly off topic, but if we make a Let's Play Earthbound thread, I demand it to start off with Ness as "Bitch," and favorite food is "cock". Just for the comedy gold moment below: Mom: Oh hello Bitch! Why don't you eat some cock and go off to bed?

D-bag is funny because it can be at once terribly crass and at the same time connect him with a younger audience. Kids love the hip hop music.
but we could call him Nait-G! (Not appearing in this Game) Last edited by Funka Genocide; 06-11-2008 at 01:41 PM. |

I would, but, I'm lazy.
Also there's the factor of the naming all taking place at the beginning of the game, and only four party members, and the dialog being all Earthbound-y. I don't think it would work.

I'll probably use Gau a ton because getting his rages are as simple as heading to Veldt, turning on Autofire A, Frame Skip 9, and mash arrow keys for a while.
Like, I can read while I'm doing it or something. It's that simple. The thing is, I never really used him in my own playthroughs so I don't really know how to do it right. Eh... I'll figure it out. |

I never really worked out hte point of Gau. He could be really strong but it's about the same amount of effort to get, say, a couple of economisers, a gem box, genji glove and the x-attack thing that allows you attack 8 times, the big sword that casts pearl... etc etc and you can trip out 4 people so they do far more damage than Gau will ever do.
I mean if you're going spend all day tripping stuff out, you might as well do it right. |

Gau is amazing in the early-to-mid game if you swing it right. He's also damn near essential for "hard mode" games wherein people set significant handicaps on themselves.
Plus there's the matter of the effects offered by his Rages (as opposed to the abilities), the Catscratch, and so on. Oh, and he can equip the Snow Scarf. That's a nice plus.
