Will Arhra actually to beat 'The Curse'?!
Dun dun dunnnn... Anywho, I didn't know there was anywhere else to go besides down, so I'll just vote whichever direction other than down because I'd rather have someone else do it instead of put myself through that hell.

I WANNA BE THE GUY: THE MOVIE: THE GAME: THE ROAD TO TOURIAN

Carefully navigating the three spike traps (hint: the trigger for the third one is different!), we descend into the next room. People claim it is a dead end for some reason. The secret is that it is only mostly a dead end. Which means a slight chance of being alive! You simply have to find the one spike that does not kill you. Shoot it for selling out its spiky friends. This noble sacrifice gives you a safe place from all the spiky doom. And then you just climb to the top. Simple! Hmmm, a blue line. How safe! Quote:
Damnit Gutsman... Anyway, avoiding falling fatasses, we come to the next area! The music here is really catchy. Too bad you can't hear it. Da da da da da DA duuuuuuh! Oh no, a pair of actual enemies has come to kill me! And now we have to merrily leap from block to block both and below a pit of spikes. Did I mention the blocks fall the moment you hit them? Next screen is more of the same. More diagrams for your edification. Oh no, more dumbugz! Trigger this block to open the pit leading to Tourian. It is not a friendly pit. There's spikes at the bottom too. Oh look, a geemer. We're getting close! Invisible blocks will kill you. ALSO THERE ARE SPIKES! I debated about showing you people the correct path through the invisible maze, but then I remembered that IWBTG is all about hating you. Next update, TOURIAN!

Mother Brain just wants hugs.
That room is pretty dick. Funny, though, overall, if you can avoid getting too frustrated throughout this game.
I recommend that interested folks -- after this thread is over so you don't spoil it -- watch videos of this game or play it yourself if you haven't already. The NES homages via the music, sound effects, and visuals are great in motion.

I think you should have gone with your original plan. Y'know, the one where your first screen is falling down the spike pit of doom and the next is being on the ledge with no explanation whatsoever.=P

Anyway, given the trickiness of getting screenshots and the fact I had to deliberately kill The Kid several times to get some of them (damn you Gutsman! Why do you have to fall so fast?!), I have no shame about using the extra saves Medium difficulty gives. Incidentally, on Impossible difficulty, there are no saves!

I approve of going in a route I haven't gone through yet. Also, because of this thread, it's gotten me in the mood to play IWBTG again and I hate you for it.

I refuse to play this game ever again.
I beat it before the boss rush version, but I honestly almost cried in frustration several times. I broke 2 usb controllers, and damaged a keyboard. I am not playing this game again, becoming The Guy once is enough for me.
