Hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal. They're very vicious!

It could also explain why they are always so Hungry Hungry.

Unless I'm missing a joke or something I think I've got this one covered. Also, The viciousness of hippos is obviously the key to making an awesome alien/fantasy race.

I've seen several video clips of Hippos darting out of the water to snatch water buffalo and shit.

They're viscous AND vicious.

They're territorial, very territorial, but they are most definitely herbivores. The lesson here is, even (especially) if it's a cute animal that eats plants, it can still kill the fuck out of you.

Oh god, the hippos! I had no idea they looked that weird. I read some of those links... since the Shaedys don't have uber hippo lips to pull up grass and twiggy stuff, I might make their front teeth more like a rodents'. (having hands probably helps too.) Definitely adding in crazy canine teeth/tusks though. Now they can teethstab their way to victory when the headbutting doesn't work. Ahaha!

I think I will get rid of the bone separating mouth cavity from nose, and just have a second tongue-thing that shuts it so they don't snort their applejuice. Those big teeth in the front'll have to support the load since there's no bone behind them anymore. Hooray for nose singing! Maybe they can make more notes at once that way... bleh, if only I had this level of DNA fiddling in spore.

Ideas? We just spent the last seven posts discussing the viscosity and ferociousness of Hippos. I think we were anything but helpful!
