According to the character sheet, there are 4 slots for weapons and 2 for armor/protective items.

Does this mean that any items like rings and such count as protective items and as such are limited to two?

I'm pretty sure you can have as many as you wanted, but its doubtful if you could afford that many wondrous items.

Well, I was just wondering. Some of the items are pretty darn cheap like 900 gold.

Oh, actually. There is a limit of two magical rings worn at any one time, but otherwise, yeah, no limit on wondrous items.

Does Necklaces count as one of those? Or is it like 1 amulet and 2 rings or something like that?

You can carry as many as you want, but you can only wear (from the dungeon master's guide):

One headband/hat/helmet
One pair of goggles
One necklace/amulet/brooch
One vest
One robe/suit of armor
One belt
One Cloak/cape
One pair of bracers or bracelets
Two rings
And one pair of boots or shoes.

Some don't take up the space. Its in the item description.

Ok, got my character sheet up, although I have to put up any fluff like background and history. Hopefully this will go ok.

A little flaw with that chart you got there TDK.
You forgot that they can also wear one mask, or eye based item in addition to the ones mentioned.
Thus a mask of X could also be worn with a headband of X.
