Nah, I'll say something useful. This seems interesting, but I feel a little like I'm missing out on understanding some stuff because I haven't played the game. It could be that the game really is just that incomprehensible at this point, I don't know. But like I said, still enjoyable. Yay for another good LP!

And do you only get the BB gun if you have shooting as a main hobby? What happens if you have something else? I can't imagine the dad helping his kid with shenanigans.

Seems to be advancing much faster than DFM's with a bit less narrative. Interesting all the same.

And isn't there an option to turn off the dialog boxes except when choosing an option? Not saying you have to, cause transcribing from audio alone is a pain, just asking.

Well I guess what I have to say with that is...

a) I don't believe you and you didn't post a side-by-side comparison AND

Well, I want some goddamn input! I'm getting a bunch of views, sure, but, like, Si Civa seems to be the only one that likes it and only because he's trying to make my life hell half of the time. I'm more impressed with RT's "OH GOD I WANTED TO SEE A LP OF THIS SO BAD" initial state and then never showing up on the thread again, though.

I half-expect Elvis to have looked nearly exactly like that kid, but it's not like it's easy to find a picture of Elvis as a 10 year old to compare.

And I'm still waiting for the answer: You always get the BB gun, no matter what your main hobby is? If no, what happens when you get another hobby, like Shenanigans?

You always get the BB Gun as far as I know- but I'm on the PS3.


And Butch's nose and face are too thin to REALLY look like elvis. Plus, his sideburns are kind of pathetic.

Can you find a picture of 10-year old Elvis? I can't. The point is that when he got older, he and Elvis look nearly the same. Chances they looked alike when kids are pretty good.

I open my eyes groggily to Amata standing over my bed ranting and raving.

"What... Amata... I'm trying to sl..."


"Wait, what? My dad's gone? I..."

I sit up in my bed and put my hands on her shoulders. "Amata, calm down, what's going on?"

She shrugs my hands off before continuing.

"Oh... god... Amata are you...?"



"He did tell you he was leaving, didn't he?"

"No... I had no idea..."




I stand up fully now, looking out the door to my room. "I... had no idea."




I take the gun from her carefully, looking over the design. The weight is strange. So much heavier than my BB Gun. This is a weapon made for killing... killing like they did to Jonas.

I can feel my confusion and helplessness melting away as I lift the gun into my hand.

"Thanks. This will come in handy when I run into the guards."



Lucy's got a gun.


"THERE SHE IS! STOP HER!"


He's distracted by something. Shouting about roaches. I don't care.


Fucking murderers.


I laugh in his face.

He doesn't.

"Butch, you obviously don't know the meaning of irony, or you'd be getting a giggle out of you askin' me for help. Especially now. Fuck off."


"Begging? Yeah, I like that. Why don't you beg some more asshole."


"OOOh, I could join the TUNNEL SNAKES. Go to hell with your mom."


That felt good. I walk past as he starts to cry and hollars for a guard that's not coming.


...Ah fuck.



I am the goddamn terminator. Or at least an exterminator.

I leave before Butch or his mom can say anything. I don't really care, anyway.


The tunnels are boring and steel grey as always. No more guards and no more residents, thanks to the constant blaring over the PA about how everyone needs to stay in their rooms. I guess I should be glad for that.

The first people I see are a couple of old classmates talking as I enter the atrium.

"Don't you see? This is our only chance. We're gettin' outta here just like the doctor."

"No! Tom Don't!"


"It's me! Tom Holden!"

Holy shit... holy shit... they just killed them. I knew those two. We... we weren't friends or anything, but I knew them, and they didn't have anything to do with this.

They're murderers. That's all they are... I...

I need to get out of here.



I crouch into the shadows and make my way to the stairs. They don't seem to see me. Thank God... I don't know if I could have won an actual fire fight...

As I come up the stairs I turn into a window with a man behind it.

He sees me.



"Hey! It's you! Your father's the one who left and screwed everything up for us! HEY GUARDS! SHE'S OVER HERE!"

Shit.

I come around the corner and... It's Paul. The only Tunnel Snake who wasn't completely worthless... but now he's trying to kill me.


I feel his nightstick smack into my arm, and there's pain, and before I know what's happening I pull the trigger.


...I'm sorry Paul.

Jesus this is fucked up. I can feel myself losing my cool. I wanted revenge but now... I... I just don't know. I knew these people. Am I really any better than the Overseer?



...Yes, I am.

I charge around the corner to the door and throw it open before Officer Mack, the sadistic bastard, can bring down the nightstick.

He turns to face me. I don't know what I'm thinking. I just know I can't let him hurt Amata. I can feel the gun in my palm, but I didn't know I pulled the trigger.



Amata darts away as my last bullet flies through his head, gray matter painting the wall like some kind of new faux finish.

...I think I'm going to be sick, but the Overseer's still here, and I can't show weakness now.


"No, I'm not here to turn myself in you sick fuck, and if you ever let anyone hurt Amata again, I will personally add a second coat to that wall."


I take a step back and aim the barrel of the gun toward his forhead, my finger twitching as I ready to pull the trigger, and he changes his tune pretty quick.



I want nothing more than to pull the trigger anyway, thinking of Jonas, but I don't. And not just because I'm out of ammo. Thank God he didn't know that.

"If you weren't her father I'd kill you anyway. You have no idea how much I want to see you die after what you did to Jonas... but I won't."

I turn around, put the gun back in my shirt, and almost walk away... but I can't. I can't kill him... but...


I whirl around and give him one good punch square in the jaw. I can hear the bones in his jaw crunching at the impact and he goes down.

I feel better now.

With that I prepare to leave, but decide I should check the lockers first.



Thank God. More ammo.

I walk through the hallways, my hand wrapped tight around my pistol. I think I can feel my knuckles turning white. I'm almost there, though. Another few corners and...


...Jonas.

A quick search reveals a note from my father. He tells me that I'll be safe here. That I shouldn't follow him. That he and mom wanted better for me than that.

I sigh as I look down at Jonas once more before turning away. All that anger I had... it just melts away. Leaving a hollow feeling. Jonas is gone and... I... I think I liked the anger more.

I give my self a moment to dry my eyes before heading to Amata's room. It's nearby and I figure I should check and see if she's there.


She is.

As soon as she notices me she starts talking. Her voice is rushed and she sounds like she's stressed to the breaking point.


"Are you ok?"

"Yeah... But you... I mean, he is ok right... after what you did to..." She seems to be on the verge of tears. For the first time in my life, I'm glad that her father is alive.

"...I hit him, but just with my fists. I... he'll have a headache that's all."
I don't tell her that I wanted to kill him.

"...Thank you... but, you'd better go." It was almost a whisper, she's weak and she needs time. I don't know if I'll see her again before I leave, but I nod quietly and take my leave, heading to his office.




Let's see... what would he use as a password. The only thing important to him... was... maybe his daughter? I hope so...


Bingo.

I make my way through the tunnel and come out the other side in a few minutes.

And just like Amata said, the panel is just a few steps away.


A large machine inserts into the door


And it rolls open with the hiss of stale air rushing outside.

A voice comes from my side. "Wow, you really did it! I didn't even think it was possible!"

I spin around before the words register with my gun in my hand.



I lower the gun.



"I do what I set out to do."



"Why... don't you come with me, Amata? This place is a wreck, and I could use the company."



I give her one last hug. It feels odd, now. I don't know why, but I don't have time to dwell on it as I can hear guards on the other side of the door shouting to get in. I turn and run out.


Guess I can't go back now.


...I'm not sure what was worse. The vault or this. I... don't even know what to do.



SO! DECISION TIME!

Easy one. Pick a direction. Any direction. Or say megaton/main quest if you want to do that.

For my own sanity, I ask that if you want to blow up Megaton you have me go elsewhere first, so I can have Lucy become properly corrupted. I had her leaning toward evil but mostly neutral, due to the fact that I used a bit of a slider with the votes, and evil didn't win by that much. Also it's hard to be evil and loyal to friends at the same time.


And Ryong, those hobbies weren't real choices. I just used them as a way to decide personality and which skills to tag, but yes, you do get the bb gun no matter what. You don't even choose your tag skills until the test I skipped with Mr. Brotch.

The reason I did that instead of had you all vote on three tag skills is because a) It would give me guidance, in addition to what we do in the game, as to where to put level up points. b) there's like umpteen million skills and I didn't want to list them all. c) Fewer choices means fewer people lose out. Like there's three shooting skills. Big guns, small guns, and energy weapons. If I had listed them all, only about a third to half of the 'shooting' people would have been happy with the vote.
