Just because you're the flavor of the month, or the year, or hell the decade, doesn't put you on equal terms with a band like Radiohead.

I'mma let POS have at the whole McCartney thing while I tackle this one.

At what point, exactly, did she say she was 'better' than Radiohead? Last I read in the article she wanted to meet her favorite band and Radiohead told her no.

Or maybe I'm reading the wrong OP.

I didn't get the impression POS disliked Radiohead, but I certainly got a Beatle-worship vibe out of the comparison. I mean, Pete Best?

The promise to "ruin them" did seem to assume a certain degree of superiority.

Although it's possible that Ms. Montana was less than wholly serious in these claims.

IIRC 'ruin them' seemed more to me like some prissy bitch's empty threats of tarnishing their reputation sworn in the moment of hysteric fury. So, yeah, less than wholly serious. I mean people say things sometimes when upset which are just kinda out there.

She did, after all, say she wanted to meat them because they were her favorite band.

Actually, I don't even own any Beatles records. Good band, and still easily the most influential group of the 20th century (and what we've had of the 21st so far). A certain amount of respect is due to them, and Radiohead is far from deserving the same. As Unprodigy noted, Nirvana had way more to do with the movement that Radiohead was a part of, and even they were mostly just a revival of the punk movement from a decade before.

Also, I do feel it's worth noting that I've enjoyed the covers of "Creep" by Korn, Moby, and Richard Cheese more than Radiohead's original, though the latter really shouldn't count because his covers of everything are always better.
