So I'd decided I wasn't going to worry about art and junk anymore, and that I really just can't draw faces and I'm not really going to bother spending hours trying to make a face work. I hadn't draw anything in weeks.

So I drew a landscape because I was bored:

(Drew this in a moving car, so the river's kinda fucked. =P)

I might try my hand at what ZJ did there. Epic fancy.

HOLY CRAP I HAVEN'T BEEN HERE IN MONTHS I HATE MY POSTAL JOB.

With that outta the way...

Awh, garbage, I'm too dumb or impatient to figure out how to link images directly I've uploaded to DeviantArt. I got one of those finally. Not much there yet, I'm movin' old stuff from my photobucket you guys have seen before.

Uber Neintausaand.

I uhh, seem to have become addicted to playing TF2. This has to be the first complete comic I've ever made that I didn't whip up in fifteen minutes. There's a toon doodle I did of myself too if you follow the links.

If you right click your image and go "Copy Image Properties" you can directly link it.

I wonder what is actually over 9000...

Vegeta is 9000 exactly. That's why he was freaking out.

...I don't actually know. Thanks for the info on image linking though!

No, in all honesty, that Ben Glenn guy does awesome work from what I've seen on YouTube.
And I would have linked to an episode (OR ANYTHING) of Bob Ross' if I could find anything BUT parodies of him. @___@

I got to see him do it in person. It's really an amazing thing what he does. Not only does he draw those beautiful pictures right in front of your eyes, he has a full multimedia presentation that uses his chalk drawing as a projector to play images off of. It's reammy impressive. I definately recommend seeing him in person. And his story is really inspirational too. ^^

Something along the lines of, he was born with some severe learning disabilities(I'm not sure, I can't remember what exactly it was), so he couldn't take some normal classes like everyone else, so he was allowed to take art classes instead and that is what started him becoming the chalk guy and making those beautiful pictures, so something like... everything has a reason.

EDIT: Speaking of learning disabilities, I drew more! When I should have been doing homework. Oh well, that's what Sundays are for.

They're totally just hanging out. As best friends. Yeah. Friendship. (Or if you want, you can pretend that Snake is dead and Otacon is weeping) And it's not done, I just used a photoshop filter because when I shade with pencil I always get my hand all over it and it makes it crazy messy so... I'm covering up my weaknesses. XD

I normally wouldn't post dude-love drawings, but I'm just pleased with their poses.

I know not as deeply ripped as this, but maybe use this for reference, especially the very edges. I mean, if you like it, that's fine, but I'm just pointing out my opinion.
Looking back at it after having come down from my euphoria of pride, I see what you mean. Actually to the point where I'm considering not having it ripped on the sides at all!

I'll use a quicky manipulation of a picture of the Pripyat area I whipped up as an example:

[snip]

Now visually there is a lot going on in the image. Technically speaking I can break it down very simplistic like:

Rule of Thirds.
Upped contrast, RGB tone, and blur.
An overlay of a burnt film negative.
Torn border edge along the top.

That's all there is to it. It's a very simple but effective layout tool. Something to always keep in mind when working on the The Power of Commands screen.
I'll try this and see if maybe I can come out with a more realistically ripped edge. It's probably going to be in a new layer in case I can't make it work. Sadly, I don't have enough real estate to make a second scroll roll on the top. If I were able to copy/paste the one from the bottom, it would negate the need for detailing the edges in the first place. Sadly, I still need that space for my game commands and the logo.

Actually, I'm going to go in and do the copyright info in my patented (not really) 3-point font. Maybe 4-point for extra clarity. I think it's currently in 8-point because less than that looked like crap, but I'm definitely not happy with how big it is. As for the options, I'm trying to decide whether I want to put them side by side and gray out the one that's not selected or if I want to stack them and maybe make one or the other grow on selection, as well as gray out the other.

Edit Only Not Really:

Okay, wow, got so absorbed in doing the graphics that I forgot to submit this post. The side tearing made it too visually busy with my new background design. Sadly, all the work I put into the top was for nothing, because when I actually placed it on my test screen, it looked like crap. Here's the most current version with the test screen.

To deconstruct what I did, I copied the scroll from the bottom to the top and moved the letters and orbs down a bit. Then I fixed up the lighting on the rolls. The orbs are now, once again, reconfigured, with the hope being that the colors draw the eye to the center. I'm happier with the right side than the left in that regard, but nothing's perfect. The orbs are also one pixel lower than the central orb, which gives it yet another subconscious tweak of importance. The copyright info is now in my hand-done 3-point font and should be legible at 1x magnification. The G is the one letter that really breaks the system no matter what, and it breaks down completely at 2x. There's nothing I can do about it, but it's only one letter. The New Game and Load Game are just dummied. I'll probably handle those with actual text when programming. The scroll has been narrowed and shortened a bit to keep it from being too close to the edges of the window.

Oh, and if the orbs look a little off, it's because they are. I'm fixing up the spacing as I type this.

Edit for real:

Oh, wow, I feel like an ass. Here I was going to comment on everyone's work and I got so wrapped up in my own I forgot!

ST, that sunrise (sunset?) is amazing. TDK, sometimes knowing your weaknesses is half the battle. I, too, struggle with faces, at least on heads that are attached to bodies. For a car drawing, that's really good. Khael, that's the first creative use of that meme that I've seen in ages! XD Nice! CJ, that filter is pretty neat. You have some anatomical issues, though. The heads seem a bit small and the arms are a bit long on Ota and maybe a bit short on Snake. Snake's torso seems a bit long, too.

TDK - Not going to do art anymore? Cool mountainous landscape though.

Khael - XD I love it! I don't play TF2, but still, great meme, great art. ^^

Blue - Very cool. I think I liked the old configuration of orbs better, but that one is still good and my eye goes toward the one in the center. I really like the color scheme, and damn that font is tiny.

Hopefully I fixed some of the problems I was having. Probably not, as I forsee more critique coming.

The inspiration for that drawing came from watching a really cool MGS AMV thing. I really like the song they used, and the video editing is awesome.

So I've been playing FFXII for the first time, and I decided I needed to do an MSPaint sketch of Gilgamesh, so this is what I've got so far. I'm really tempted to do some hiimdaisy inspired comics about FFXII.

I really liked how it turned out for being such a simple Paint rendition of him. I plan on adding color after I redownload Paint.Net.

Also, CJ, that MGS pic is awesome on so many levels. It probably isn't finished yet, but I was noticing that Snake's mustache, or rather the outer edge of it, seems to stand out a little more than it should, but maybe that's just me.

EDIT: And now the finished version. I changed his head, and, although I like the look less, it is now more accurate. Also, reason for not doing his arms is quite simple. He has eight of them and I'm lazy. They're hidden behind the cloak and scarves.

Noncon - Cool little MSpaint-esque drawing. I do like the style of the head on the first one better, but I like the horns and such on the second one. Nice choice of colors too.

And thanks! I didn't even notice his mustache. XD. Fixed that (I think) and I think it's mostly done now.

Lyrics at the top are from "Still Alive" which is the theme from Mirror's Edge, which I totally freaking got for my birthday, but my computer refuses to make it work. D=<

If it wasn't for the new episode of FMA that came out yesterday, I would be in a world of unhappiness. I really wanted to play it.
