The ritual to throw the bottle into out of time-spaced missfired that was caused by unforeseen interference and caused you to be stuck in an infinite time loop that begins and ends with the day you cast the ritual, ala groundhog day, and the only way you could get out of it is if you resummoned the beast.

Or better yet, youre captured by a lich king and imprisoned and he roasts you with massive fire spells daily in a form of torture till switching to different spells every week and constantly tortures you in a cage that has a darkness spell cast on it that can never be dispelled and you'd be forever magically bound in this cave till your beast returned to you.

The point is that DMs have final call and they don't have to care what the rules say. Sorta like playing in Faerun and calling on names and locations as a player cause you played Baldur's Gate.

But "miracles" don't exist in 4E!

Yes, I get your points, however. Which proved mine: the DMs arbitrarily threw me out of the game (his only non-acceptance option). Otherwise, he'd have to completely change the rules, as you guys indicated yourselves.

First I did say you'd be crippled in my post so I already had that method of dealing with your "imortallity" plus I stand by my lich torturing methods, I'd be fun as well! Fun for everyone but you mwuahahahahaha :p

I told you being evil is pretty easy, just have to play how your character was to be greedy in lust for power with no sense of morals. But in all honesty a Beast Ranger would never do that to their pet unless they were evil themselves because that'd be cruel to the pet plus upsetting to be without your companion. It'd be like Drizzt surrending Gwen. Never happen willingly. So it would be slightly out of character in my mind.

We did already mention the shift in understanding of alignment in 4E, right? I never said I'd pull this off - not even similar stuff in 3.X that I could get away with - just that it's totally viable by the rules. As for cruelty to animals: my beast (chosen for longevity and sedentism) would live in its personal paradise with all the healthy food it needs, the ability to hump any rock it wanted, and complete lack of natural predation against it. It would never have to have worry, pain, or sickness (there are rituals to handle such things) and it would be perfectly fine until the day it dies. There's nothing evil there at all. Further, such a massive decision isn't one to be taken lightly, but probably something the character has had in mind for quite some time, considering he bothered to make himself a master of all those very specific rituals in the first place. Perhaps his original idea was to create the most human uber-prison imaginable for their immortal enemies, but then he found out: I can be immortal. Sure he'd miss his buddy, but his buddy would be pretty happy, he'd be able to do much more good than he could otherwise, and he'd be able to ensure that no one else ever has to worry about such atrocities (by killing off demon princes and devil-gods). Beside, if he's headed to the abyss he's actually sparing his buddy the horrors of that existance - it's a win-win situation for good with a comparatively mild drawback - the emotional sorrow of never seeing the best-friend again. Seriously, the kind of people that would pull this off in the campaign (me) can justify this to any given alignment and most any character, given the proper story points and events. If a person is dedicated to a cause enough, they can justify anything to themselves for the sake of that cause, especially if it's completely humane and not evil. Again, I'd not actually pull this one, just pointing out a major flaw in 4E's perfect "balance" theory building off of Mirai's previous frusteration.

You would effectively eliminate it from the Mating season, which is a prime time for any beast, and humping rocks is not exactly a viable release for the animal as opposed to another animal of same species. The fact i'm even talking about this is beyond strange......lets not mention the mating habits of bears again. Also due to the relaxing nature of the environment you tossed your beast in, his life expectancy my drop considerably and he die from being overweight and such.

I under stand justify things easily enough, you have to justify certain things in DnD. Hell, it wouldn't be fun if you didn't have to try to justify any sort of action.

What alignment would you say a man is who does good things such as start an orphanage, help feed the hungry, provide jobs, and starts a rapidly growing group dedicated to patrolling the major highways to stop bandits and provide a safe passage for the traveling merchants that make up the second largest source of money in the world only to gain influence with the peasant population and merchants to gain the manpower and money to fuel a bloody revolution against an actually kind and just king who the man has spent about a year of carefully laid smear and sabotage to have him painted as an inhuman jerk just so he can instill himself as ruler of an ironfisted regime over said country and then use the army to invade a neighboring smaller country who is a pacifist nation and steal all their vast mineral supplies to help fund my, I mean "his," conquest of the world?

You know, hypothetically speaking of course.

You do realize that basically every epic destiny in Martial Power is about making you literally immortal. I was kind of taken aback by it at first but now it just seems kind of cool. Either way the immortal ranger is effectively moot because given enough time everyone can become immortal in ways that are permanent.
