I think I may end up stealing the dungeons for that next if my players liked the Termina campaign. Hell, every time I DM the whole thing is stolen from some game no one in my playgroup has ever heard of.

oh, that reminds me. do NOT try to translate Chrono Trigger to D&D. its too much of a headache.

There is a whole fuckton of different expansions that most people use.
While cool, most of these add serious imbalances and exploitable holes in the game.

The d20 modern is also free as well, you might give it a look if you want a more modern, action movie game.

They haven't heard of Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask?

I can see maybe CT if they're not big into games, but seriously? Zelda? Do you meet up under the rock, or do they come to YOUR house?

My groups average age is 17, and for most of them the ps2 was their first exposure to games. I, on the other hand, had a nintendo for a babysitter.

It is ok as long as your players understand that anything they do, the DM can do about a million times worse.
One of my players was feeling a bit powergamey and brought along some kind of ridiculous troll/undead hybrid thing who was immune to all damage and had ridiculously high saves and abilities. His one weakness was acid in ridiculous quantities I let him in, which surprised everyone because I tend to crack down pretty hard on expansions. 20 minutes later, they were descending into an abandoned acid mine to fight the evil acid cultists of Caspesh- he got the message pretty quickly.

Well, to be fair, I haven't played Majora's Mask, but that's pretty bad.

My PCs? Wanted for murder. Good ol' assassinate and blame the PCs, only this time the most wanted player did this to himself by carrying the body around in broad daylight. And it was essentially the equivalent of killing the Secretary of State. I'm wondering how much the bounty should be right now. Any suggestions?

That kind of reminds me of an old GURPS game I played. The GM made the mistake of letting me get my hands on a pair of sandals that for a bit of my health would make me run at basically the speed of sound. Well the real problem was that I was also the tank and had scads of extra health just laying around. So we get to this city and need to find this person in this school for magic users of some sort. Not wanting to take 3 days searching this place I start running around at the speed of sound opening every door I come across. Unfortunately one happens to be an occupied ladies bath room which of course gets the guards called on me. Said guards quickly block the exit and not exactly wanting to fight I get this great idea. I hold my sword out to the side and run at full faster then the speed of sound velocity through the guard blocking one door taking out the guard blocking the other door with my sword. I thought I'd just slice through him but the GM had other ideas. The poor guard gets stuck on my sword and then proceeds to be dragged through a door and then the gate of the school. I continue running at full speed through town dragging the corpse until I find a convenient alley to dump the body in. I then run to the nearest Inn for some much needed rest. Meanwhile the rest of the party having left the search to me is in the town square charmed into a literal stupor by an NPC seductress.

This was actually pretty much the tone of the game. I being the stupid meat shield would suggest a stupid plan and everyone would just go along. Like if something was locked I'd suggest breaking it open and no one would object. Or the time we accidentally killed a head priest we needed alive to get the sandals I would later use to break the game. Well really the rouge like character decided to back stab a party member got a critical failure and ended up stabbing the priest instead who promptly died. When the guards came by wanting to talk to him I picked up the corpse shoved the PC who killed him behind said priest and suggested we play weekend at Bernie's to try and bluff the guards. The guards critically failed there spot checks missed the giant blood stains and were completely fooled. I'd like to say the game went down hill from there but it started much earlier. Back before we got the quest for the sandals when we were in town the same back stabbing PC was pickpocketing everyone in sight and almost failed a check but the NPC got a critical failure. This was described by the GM as basically a police style pat down of the NPC who remained completely oblivious as all his valuables were stripped from him in a rather rough manner. Good times.

Ah yes, the old "Every-Villain-Has-Five-Hundred-Pounds-Of-Kryptonite."

I once ran Phantasy Star IV as an exalted campaign.

It was suprisingly accurate.

Back in MY day, we had Atari. There was only one game of Congo Bongo, and WEEEEE liked it!

Alright, my best stories comes from our campaign where we had a ranger that always flew into trees (got kicked around more than a ragdoll), a brooding warrior who ate an army's worth of chicken, a crazy prophet that always wandered into enemy territory (I could tell you about how she wandered into the king's room... while he was with the maid but... yeah), two thieves, one with an INT penalty, the other had a klepto problem.

Oh, did I tell how we were saving the world from a cowardly king that couldn't be killed because of an immortality spell? Or the assassin who was friends with the chicken warrior that couldn't tell her childhood friend she WAS part of a league that helped to kill his mother?

Yeah, fun times.
