List of Special Vehicle features and coments on how they're still available by synthesis only. I really can't see a reason not to allow skipping the biggest hurdle of getting a working vehicle(which would take months or years to craft, for which time and money we'll probably have not) with an ability, and then simply expand upon the concept in a more traditional way. You really should stop killing every idea just because it's not elaborated on in the book. The book isn't complete, nor it is flawless. The game shouldn't be a pain in the back to walk around all the unnatural restrictions. I can understand why you don't like some of my Graft concepts. But this... |

"Gee, can I get a powerful vehicle by spending some gil and making a skill check instead of investing one or more of my precious few job abilities in it?"
"No." "Stop killing all my ideas guys!" So yeah. I mean, if Ecurt wants to give the group a Totally Awesome Airship With All Sorts of Cool Stuff at some point without forcing us to sink a ton of job abilities on it, that'd be really nice of him, but letting one guy crank out all manner of vehicles for everyone could be a real pain in the neck for him. Some game systems actually force you to buy accquisitations with your experience. If you pick up those Shades of Super-Cool, you'd better be dropping some experience into your artifacts background sooner or later.

From what he said, it'd be perfectly fine for me to get an incredibly powerful vehicle by making a skill check OR taking a job ability, but not by combining them. So the exact power of the vehicle isn't the point.
After all Synthesis(Machine) primary use is crafting Vehicles and their Weaponry. Picking up skills to use all this stuff is a separate manner. :P Last edited by Naqel; 12-08-2009 at 07:22 AM. |

Menarker: You don't have to roleplay your dragon as the same stats as you. As for the grafts, I won't allow you to sell your grafts, but I will allow you to upgrade them at a lower cost.
Naqel: The only indestructible things I'm ever going to let you guys build with synthesis are weapons - and that's because it'll take up a slot that could be used for another weapon ability. I know NPF well enough to know that the first thing people will do with an indestructible vehicle is crash it through everything and everybody that they can. That, in my opinion, is worth a job ability. Also, weapon systems as part of the shared ability function at the same tier as its owners weapons, which is a whole lot cheaper than building them yourself, and automatically upgrade as you get a better weapon. |

Okay, okay. Indestructible things are bad. But it still dose not solve the problem which would appear if I got the Special Vehicle ability:
I now have an airship/truck/tank/whatever. + I can make BIG weapons. |
