Supernatural Two Minutes to Midnight
Anyone else keeping up this season? Lots of curveballs this season, the biggest for me personally was Death being DEATH. Like, the real deal. I don't know if the other horsemen are similar or what, but I wasn't really expecting him to be like, "I'll be the one who turns out the lights and locks the door when the universe is over" level. I don't think I've ever seen Dean quite that close to pants-wetting terror, and I don't really blame him.
Also surprising have been the allusions to a universe beyond humanity and Earth. Lucifer talked about how the pagan gods "ceded this world," and now Death has been talking about the broader universe. Kinda makes it sound like the angels didn't get here until things were in full swing. Then again, in Dean's vision of the future, Lucifer did call the world God's last perfect creation, so maybe he was here all along, and it was just them who got here later. At any rate, things are going a bit too well, which leads me to believe this deal with the rings may well be a trick to get Sam to say yes. Lucifer did say he taught Gabriel everything he knows, after all.
