As an additional note: With the implementation of Creeper mobs comes the gunpowder they drop, leading to TNT. Please use this responsibly. Anyone I find carelessly damaging public property with stupid uses of TNT will be followed and murdered in the name of the public good. If you want to go into your mine and blow the shit out of yourself, that's fine, just don't be putting TNT near other people's things or in town.

Some tips on using TNT without killing yourself: An activated red-stone trail leading to TNT will cause it to detonate. A common kind of trap within one's own mine is to place a pressure plate leading to TNT that will kill those who who do not belong there. Be careful, as oftentimes the creators of these traps are killed by them, rather than the intended intruders.

If you're lacking in redstone, there is another way. Im pretty sure fire being right next to redstone will set it off, and wool burns quickly. Set a block of TNT, then set a trail of wool leading to a safe distance, then light the wool using a lighter.

We cannot emphasize how important it is that you be careful with lighters and with TNT. Both have been the cause of extreme damage to public areas in the past, and there is a dangerously large potential for that now that all of our public theaters, inns, and other buildings are all made of wood and surrounded by trees. A forest fire started in this game is really, really hard to put out. Don't do it.

EDIT: A final note on using fire is that a burning block does not have to be in direct contact with another block to spread the flames. A single burning piece of wood or leaves can pass the flame a small leap away to a tree or building it is not even touching. For this reason it is asked that one does not play with fire while on the surface. If you have uses for it underground, thats probably safe, but please don't burn everything down. We had a bit of a problem with this on the last map.
