Look, Pierce knew about the distress call when it was first mentioned by Irene, but he was shushed by her and told to rest as Pierce goes on to mention about his sister and needing to find her and all that stuff.

It was after he was put sleeping and he was being loaded in the ambulance did Irene found out about the true nature of the distress call, Sheveton and the attacker, and she went off on her own. (Liz was around Irene when Jenny informed her). Then Jeanette asked Liz to come with her and Pierce since she needed him to verify Liz's story, implying that he wasn't able to do so at the time on account of being asleep by medication and being loaded on the ambulance.

It was afterwards when Pierce woke up and AFTER several questions answered by Jeanette that Liz deadpanly blurted out that Irene went ahead to HQ regarding the over powered attacker.


So you see, there was a fair bit of time between Irene finding out the attack's true nature and when Pierce found out and thus when Pierce was able to actually able to relay the situation to everyone else.
