Not saying they are doing this, I always thought Mass Effect handled relationships in a mature manner, for the most part. Being able to sit in a strip club less so.
But in marketing "sex sells" is still their mantra.

No. That's silly. You're misconstruing what FANservice is. Fans will, by a
huge margin have liked Mordin. A lot. Cutting him from the game is a disservice. But an understandable one if you're low on budget or something.
But to huge that budget. The time, resources and money involved to put a celebrity cameo in your game is
dumb. It isn't Fanservice by any means because I whole heartedly believe no
fan who wasn't going to buy the game or wasn't excited or Anything of the sort will be very happy to hear about this.
