My computer's been shutting down and I don't know why.
In the past 2-3 days my computer has had a really bad habit of just going kaput and killing itself while I'm in the middle of playing a game. Its happened twice during Metal Gear Rising and just today during Dark Souls 2. Its really a recent problem, as I've played both of those games just fine for extended periods in the past.
This has happened to me once or twice over the year I've had the laptop, but only when I'm legitimately running too many processes at once (like, podcast + skype + game + whatever). Its just been in the past two days that it apparently has gotten really fragile and has been shutting down more often. I've been trying to turn off other processes while I play, but it doesn't always help. I'm not sure if its a memory problem or if its overheating or what. Usually my laptop tells me if there's a memory issue incoming, but I've gotten no such warnings during the most recent shutdowns. It doesn't feel that hot either so I don't think its overheating. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite, my processor is a core i7, and I have about 8gb's of ram. Any recommendations? I can try to provide more specific details if needed. |
