So we are clear

Installing video drivers crashes the card
So my family got me an early christmas gift, a radeon R9 380 graphics card. I install the card and it works fine but when I installed the drivers for it the screen goes black the moment it boots up. I went into safe mode and it was working again, disabled the the drivers and it worked. Its only when the video drivers load that i'm hit with a black screen. To be clear I can hear windows, it loaded fine I just cant see anything.
I tried removing and re-installing the card itself. Completely removing previous drivers and starting over. Tried different methods of getting drivers, through windows, manual install, automatic through the site. Of course checked online and while this is apparently a very common issue pretty much all of the threads offer no solution. Those I could find I tried but with no luck. FYI, using windows 7
