Oh hi! :D

This one is called 'Arrogance'
High upon the mountain one man sits And never traveled down to see the world he admits And why should he? The world is corrupt Everyday passes and another story is abrupt About how people are killed, and city's are burned What's the point of going down if your screams are never heard? So he thinks, and he sits all alone on his seat of stone And he ponders on why no one else has come to his high throne They are blind, docile, like little born sheep Frolicking among the prairies where filth and decay creeps. Don't they see what is down there? Don't they see it's better to not even care? And he's to this very day pondering and thinking For he refuses to think his thoughts are sinking He is logical, and this superior logic never fails. Infallible, his train of thought never derails. He cannot be dissuaded, what is the point of this? What a wise man, he has seen the world for what it is! The very essence is evil, and shouldn't even be considered! Then one girl came, she who had the 'folly' to travel hither. She came across him, sitting all alone on his seat of stone And she asked "why not comes with me sir, from this place so prone? The world is vast, with many places and many delights!" "Not I." He said "for the world is wicked. I will not go into such blight." The girl tilted her head, and then she asked "How do you know this to be true sir? Have you ever left in the past?" "Didn't you listen to me? Why would I ever leave my place?" Once again she was puzzled. What does this man refuse to face? "Sir, if the world is indeed wicked then why are there people still living? For not all people are evil, and in that many go on believing What you think sir is a little misguided. How did you come to be so short sighted?" The man started, what was she saying? How can such a little girl be insisting on his not staying? Why should she care, she is no way attached to him "Get out little girl, I will not throw away my life on your whim." And with a sigh, the girl went here way. Such a pity she thought And the 'logical' man sat there, his ignorance he willingly bought So goes the story of one man who didn't even see There was a lot more than what he thought could ever be Last edited by BlackMageGirl!; 12-15-2004 at 02:07 PM. |
