5 minute poetry

I do so love the neon
flashing in despair
brilliant in a sense
destroying innocence

taking what we give
its fueled by deeper things
all we never knew
oh, how it blooms

like strange inspiration
flapping in the dark
the sounds are so inviting
this feel might be enticing

its gloves and hats
a bouquet of wonder
those oddly clothed actors
on stages meant for betters

it calls to me so lovingly
its temperament quite lurid
grand designs and nonsense
glory behind a fence

caged as an animal
it loses what it is
to ennui and decay
only here to see the day

never touch these things
that sparkle so
only be right next to me
witnessing what it can't be
