5 minute poetry

I heard some people liked the first poem I wrote. I even saw a girl cry from it.

I was just wondering if anyone would mind if I posted another one? I only have one request. When I post it, if you reproduce it please keep me as the author.

Here it is.

"America The Loved"

America my country great!
How many tears have been shed for thee?
How many soldiers standing there saluting gratefully?
How many warriors in your army marching with their guns?
How many prayers given by mothers waiting for their sons?
How many children have wondered why their fathers dead?
How much sweat has been given as oil for your head?
How much toil has been given in tribute to your feet?
How much blood has been paid for your freedoms sweet?
How many trumpet dirges given to the brave?
How many free men have lived because of the lives they gave?
How many of us protected by the wings you spread?
How many villains cower from your power dread?
I tell you now young children love your country dear.
I tell you now young men when she calls you hear!
I tell you now good parents let your children go.
So their children may be protected from horrors we don't know.
Let them renew the glory in our hollowed flag.
To give a precious symbol as in the wind it wags.
Blessed be those soldiers who cry as they solute.
Always may we stand in justice absolute!
America the Loved, surpassed only by God!
Blessed have I been to in your freedoms trod!

This is ~ the 5th draft.

I wrote it while watching a Marine cry before the start of the Falcons vs Eagles playoff game. When the jets flew by while a small child was singing that glorious anthem in the moments while that Marines tears were falling, that is when I wrote it. I love this country. May we prosper for as long as God Blesses us. Amen.

EDIT1: Changed a small piece. It is subject to continual change.

EDIT2:By some strange piece of fate this just happens to be post #911. This was worth mentioning.
