Is that from The Name of the Rose? I have the book lying around somewhere (haven't read it yet) but I've seen the movie, though it was awhile ago.
Anyways, to keep on-topic I dug up a really old poem. Crappy. Blargity: Holding us in a guise of mystery from the waning and waxing moon to the tempestuous seas. Its solemn zephyrs mystify -caressing fields and whispering truths and secrets- then illusionaries. The trees stand stiff and grow old- and quiver and sway from time to time with their wiseness and telling of lore -of the stream, of the sun, of the wind and air- in rhythm with the passing years. It is an enigma That holds us eternally -For just when we think we understand it- it deceives us again. |
