I remember reading that book. There was also a sequel, told from the perspective of the Bully character that was very good.

You mean totally awesome. Unless you're not referring to the one that has the bully-man in an assembly, get selected by the female alien teacher, put into a magic smart machine and getting addicted to said machine and then helping the other kids, because no -, that one was just good.
