Default The RPG Battle game signup

Ok, so here's what I want to do; Two partys ("teams") of 5 people each will face off against each other in a turn based RPG style battle.

I haven't decided yet to go with a simplified system of my own design or use a preexsisting one. If I go with a preexsisting system, I will probably base it off of Final Fantasy X. Also, I will add in classes at a later time.

Anyway, we have 10 open slots. First two to sign up are Party Leaders and will pick their own teammates one at a time of the group that has signed up.

EDIT 1: I should say that the party leaders only real function is to pick their teammates after everyone joins
EDIT 2: There will be status effecting magic, in the thread for the game, each charecters status will be reflected in the main list and should be indicated at the top of their post along with HP/MP and other important info.

EDIT 3: Ok all positions are filled. Before teams are picked, everyone should pick out of these available classes just modify your original post to keep the thread uncluttered;

* Fighter/Knight
* Monk
* Thief
* Ninja
* Red Mage
* Black Mage
* White Mage

Here are the base stats for these classes. If anyone has suggestions for improvements, I'm open but I want to keep this simple. You'll notice the scale runs from best physical attack to best magic user.

Everyone can pick one stat bonus. It will be a +1 to any one stat or +5 to your HP.

In battle, you have 4 'menu options' to choose from. Attack, Tech., and Item are available for everyone (except for Red Mages, who have both white and black magic.) Attack is obvious. Tech attacks use MP and will add additional damage. Item will pull from your party's inventory which is yet to be determined.

More to come after folks pick their class.

EDIT 4: Stat figures are going to be pretty direct. For example 10 STR means your base attack does 10 damage. then if the defending charecter VIT stat is 8, you do 2 damage. I'm considering lowering the VIT so more damage can be dealt cause that seems low to me.

EDIT 5: Here are the menu options for each class
Fighter: Attack, W. Magic, Tech, Item
Monk: Attack, Kick, Tech, Item
Theif: Attack, Steal, Tech, Item
Ninja: Attack, Throw, Tech, Item
R. Mage: Attack, B. Magic, W. Magic, Item
B. Mage: Attack, B. Magic, Summon, Item
W. Mage: Attack, W. Magic, Pray, Item

Attack: Target's 1. User's STR Minus target's VIT = Damge ('DMG')

Kick : Target's All. User's STR divided by number of targets = DMG

Steal: Takes 1 random item from the other party's inventory.

Throw Target's 1, can only be used ten times. STR = DMG

Tech: Target's 1. Lvl 1- Minus 1 MP from user. STR = DMG. Lvl 2 - Minus 2 MP from user. STR times 2 minus target's VIT = DMG

Item: Uses an item from your party's inventory, everyone has access. Each party has; 10 Ether (Restores 4 MP)10 Potions (+10 HP), 5 Phoenix Downs (Restores from KO + 5 HP), 5 Remedy (Cures status ailment), 2 Elixirs (Restores full HP/MP), and 10 Ninja Stars (Only a ninja can use this item).

W. Magic: Target's 1-or-All (HP restored is divided by number of targets). Includes Cure (Cost 1 MP, 1/2 of MAG = HP restored to target) Cura (Cost 2 MP, MAG = HP restored to target) Protect (Cost 3 MP, adds + 2 to target's VIT, lasts 4 turns) Shield (Cost 4 MP, adds +2 to target's SPR, lasts 4 turns) and Life (Restores target from KO + 5 HP).

B. Magic: Target's 1-or-All (DMG & target's SPR divided by number of targets) includes Fire (Cost 1 MP MAG minus target's SPR = DMG), and Fira (Cost 2 MP, MAG times 2 minus target's SPR = DMG), Poison (5 MP, - 1 to VIT + -2 HP for 6 turns), and Death (Cost 9 MP. Causes instant KO with a 1/6 chance of hitting).

Summon Target all. Cost 9 MP and calls an Eidilon, GF, Aeon, etc of your own name and design. MAG times 10 divided by number of targets = DMG

Pray: Uses no MP and restores 2HP and 1 MP to each party member unless they are KO'd.

EDIT 5: Ok, I have made some modifications. The biggest difference is that the Monk is slightly nerfed and the Fighter is now a better magic user (going for a Paladin type here). All classes have been altered somewhat. Also I have added Ether to the item list, and explained more precisely how each attack or magic works.

EDIT 6: We've started picking teams. You can view the game thread here but please DO NOT start posting until the game starts. You can see the teams, inventory and your current stats, as well as whose turn it is on the first page of that thread, I will update it after every turn.

Also, I have had a couple questions about SPD - For now this is strictly turn based. SPD only determines in what order everyone takes their turn. Consider this a 'first edition' game, and the next game might have some major differences.

EDIT 7: I am making one final set of modifications. Ether will now restore 4 MP, and black magic dmg has been changed. At this point we are still waiting for secretskull and masked jedi to pick the teams (masked jedi needs to pick a stat bonus), also Moogle and Demonlink need to pick a class and a stat bonus. Also, it's not really necessary for everyone to create their own charecter sheets, as I am listing your stats in the game thread.
