Colorful anecdote time: it's like a compulsive masturbator jerking off until everything is raw and bleeding. Not exactly pleasing to watch. There's little variety, little effort to establish core fundamentals, very little drive or push for
improvement. The obsession (for lack of a better term) towards the story but little effort put in terms trying to sell it visually is the offputting part that Loyal is referring to.
Want to pick up an artist's interest in the work? Put forth the effort of the visual attempts as one puts into defending and fretting about all the trivial details that (to be quite frank) just isn't interesting right now with the cavalier attitude towards the current artwork.
