Hey, Everyone! Help Me Spend Money!

...That is to say that I'd like your recommendations.

I got a $50 iTunes gift card for Christmas along with my lovely new purple iPod Nano, and I've decided to use it to branch out into new and interesting bands. I figure your opinions are reasonably trustworthy, so I'm asking you to see if you have any bright ideas. (It'd be helpful if you can provide a Youtube link or something, so I have a feeling for whatever it is you suggest.)

But first, what I hope is an informative selection of the things I already like to listen to:

I adore the Flaming Lips.
I also adore Bob Dylan. (That's probably obvious by now.)
I like the Beatles.
I like most of the Beatles' solo work, but I like George's the best. (Because he's awesome.)
I like Pink Floyd.
I really like the Bonzo Dog Band, which I don't expect anyone here to have heard of, but still.
I like Electric Light Orchestra. ("Mr. Blue Sky" is guaranteed to make me smile whenever I hear it.)
I like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. (Inherited a taste for this from my parents.)
I kind of like Bjork. (I used to like her work a lot more when I was younger, but not so much now. Still, she has a few nifty tracks.)

Some of the things I'm not likely to be too keen on:

I don't mean to offend anyone, but the merits of metal elude me.
The same goes for country music. Just wasn't raised with it in the house.

Other than that, go nuts. I eagerly await the four or five replies this is likely to get.
