Well, obviously I can't prove it to you, but I promise that I've been waiting all these years to drop this joke. I've mentioned in interviews for years and years I had the end planned since I began the comic.

This is what I planned.

It's not "done" done. There's some wrap up to tackle first. But, yeah. This was the plan all along. It's not the first example of a terrible joke planted years in advance in these archives. It's just the longest example.
