Matthias regarded the Phantomere with an expression somewhere between impressed and intrigued. Clearly the pokemon was somewhat intelligent and was an imposing figure besides. He half wondered what a battle of wits against the reaper pokemon would be like. The team was moving on before he could give it much more thought.

Upon engaging with the crazy man his eyes were drawn to the ghosts. It seems that he didn't notice them. Perhaps the Ruin types were aware that the Team was a threat and the farmer wasn't. Regardless they appeared to be malevolent and thus would need to be dealt with.

He focused on the nearest one, stabbing at it's conciousness. Psybeam.
