Youtube stupidity
So okay, I recently posted about some flash problems I was having in an imaginary forum that never existed where I certainly didn't impersonate all of you. Well, it turns out flash wasn't my problem.
for about a week now, Youtube is telling me to upgrade flash any time I want to watch a video. The funny thing is that the video loads and starts to play THEN it vanishes and the message appears. And it's not a Firefox plugin-finder message - the video is just replaced by a link to Adobe's homepage that says "go upgrade!" In fact, if I hit stop really fast, the video plays fine. It also plays fine in embedded forms. After futzing around with flash forever, I still had the problem. Deleting cookies, reinstalling everything? Still have the problem. Googling around, it seems that this is happening a lot lately, but seemingly to random people - I've got accounts of it happening on pretty much every popular browser, with and without ad-blockers, on freshly installed systems, whatever. Some simple fixes seem to work for some people but not others. There's a lot of accusations that it's Google saying "fuck you" to ad-blockers, but I'm not really convinced of that, 'cause sites that do that usually SAY they're doing that. Has anyone had the same problem or heard anything about it? I guess it's probably just a glitch with their new setup, but it seems really weird.
