They did it for convience of a comfortable bed in a house with few good sleeping locations. Hell, AB said that Harriette in particular had no affection for Renny. Besides, you're doing the same thing with Chizuru and Shizuka in different manner (and you actually boned Shizuka while Renny hasn't gotten further than hugs. No kisses or anything). There is no reason why you, me, Impact or Matthias can't try to be nice to all the NPCs. Renny was nice to everyone from the start and rather in character. No sneaky tricks involved.

Also, I'll be waiting on AB in regards to the item that Gem pointed out. If AB says 3, fine.
