The anti-gay and anti-Semitic group Westboro Baptist Church has said they will picket outside Manalapan High School on Wednesday, protesting the school's production of the Laramie Project.

The Topeka, Kansas-based group--which has about 75 members-- released a statement on their website announcing a protest outside of the high school on Wednesday, October 27, from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. (warning: this PDF contains offensive language).

However, the protest it not mentioned on the group's picket schedule. Calls to the group were not immediately returned.

The Laramie Project is a play based on the killing of Matthew Shepard, a gay man beaten to death during a hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. The play offers re-enacted interviews with members of the Laramie community following Shepard's death, and is used widely as an educational tool for tolerance.

That is the school I just graduated from. That is the school I am looking at right now, around the corner. I think I'm going to end up in jail soon... Words cannot express the omniloathing I feel for these people, and those who agree with them.

I normally stay out of the gay rights debates, since every point I have can be said better by someone else, but I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter what parts you like, do whatever makes you happy, just don't mess with anyone elses happiness (My opinion on life in general, actually)

now... is anyone near central jersey and interested in holding back/joining in an angry Drgon rampage?

EDIT: That school has not done many things right. the only thing I can say it has going for it is the tolerance thing, and I am prouder now of that place for sticking up for this than I ever have been
