Now, I've said it before - Child's Play is not a bad movie. It's a brilliant horror flick, and the voodoo bits are handled well - voodoo being how Chucky inhabites the doll in the first place. But I've also said that remakes are crap.

What are they doing? Remaking Childs Play. So what, we've got the Japanese stuff - Ringu, Ju-On and whatever Dark Water is in Japanese - as well as Amityville Horror, Nightmare On Elm Street, The Omen, Halloween... All the classics are getting the workover. (The only reason I leave out The Exorcist is because it's been sequel-ed to death over the years, just like the Friday movies.)

So if the last remake - Nightmare On Elm Street - is any indication, Childs Play is going to miss the mark and suck. In that order.
