Skellytown, Texas - A controversial election is bringing controversial results to one area town.

A pair of two-year terms on Skellytown's city council were up for grabs Saturday.

One of those spots is now being filled by a man who is a former mayor forced to resign, and a registered sex offender.

We first told you about Warren "Red" Mills in March, when he threw his hat into the race, and NewsChannel 10 received calls from concerned citizens given his history, a history that includes jail time for sexual contact without consent, and probation for allegations of sexual contact with two minors.

Mills was also forced to resign from his position as mayor when residents got wind of his past.

But in this election, "Red" Mills came out on top, receiving the most votes to become one of the newest city council members.

We spoke with several people in Skellytown today.

Some are upset with the results, others say they supported him to victory.

Mills and the other newly-elected council member, Ashley Taylor, will be sworn in at the city council meeting on May 22nd, where the floor will be open to public comment.
