Good choice in Cryptonomicon, Kefka. Neal Stephenson must be one of the best contemporary authors.

I myself have been getting into comics over the past half year or so and haven't read much else since. Hey, I got catching up to do. So what I read/have read is:

Preacher (not yet finished)
Watchmen
Sandman (not yet finished/barely begun)
Lenore

Then of course my beloved list of webcomics...

8-Bit Theatre
Bob and George
Sluggy Freelance
8 Easy Bits
VG Cats
Something Positive
Walking Is Still Honest
The Villain
Not Metal Gear
The Order of the Stick
White Ninja Comics

... listed simply because I regard all of that literature in some way and to some extent.
