This long, and at times ridiculously thin island had many times proven itself a magnificent Vacation spot. It may be no more than an overgrown sandbar to the landlocked, but there's a mystique about the barrier Islands of North Carolina, something about their being caught between the commercialized beaches of the northern seaboards and the utterly tropical sands of The gulf of mexico. There's a homeyness to them, a sense of security and overall wellbeing associated with the fairly uncivilized place, with just enough tackyness and rugged appeal to make it liveable.

His eyes opening at last and laying on the person next to him, happy to see through the gummy haze of dryness not a drunken hook up or passed out friend, but the slender back of someone very special to him, dirty blonde hair splayed about the pillow as she shivered slightly, tightening herself into a fetal position , and seeming to relax as Ben laid the sheet over her bare skin.
You don't even talk and yet somehow keep me on the right track...
He mused as he laid his head back down, closing his eyes once more
I'm no salesman, damn right...
as sleep fell back over him.
