[Demon with a Glass Hand]

My Own Way

To say nothing of how he felt
for her
for years

I was there but a short while
and
in all of our friendship granduer
there were things we two
never said to her

Or eachother

And should it come down
to this
that the one I so
desperately feel I should
love
Has the feelings reciprocated
by he who stands my opposite

And, indeed, friends are we
and strong is our will to
eachother
Though grave fortune aside
neither knows how the other
yearns

And should it come to this
that should I have my
way
She would be mine
and
likewise I hers

But it is not to be

So, though there is a
terrible burden I must
now endure,
Her love true to his
And friends be we both
I must stand aside
and bury it all

And, to think,
should I have my way

I wouldn't have it
anyother
way.
