‘Bring her back to me,’ he whispered softly.
‘bring back the girl I love.’ ‘the earth beneath me cries from cold, the shadows come in droves.’ I follow the path along the ground, Away from where I used to stand; I risked it all to follow away From my home, from my land. I see her in the distance, warning me away I see the tears of sadness. I sense the deeper pain within, And I cannot abide the silence. I run to her, my feet barely touching The ground; my love, it knows no bounds; I cannot let this slip through my grasp; I cannot let this chance collapse! ‘I will not lose you!’ I cry to the wind. I pray fervently, deeply, that she catches My words; for I fell then, into the wounded earth. I lie lost in the darkness, I cannot find the surface, I cannot escape to find my love. I am trapped in this silence, in this darkness, in this hell. I see her face above me, Looking on me with concern. ’Let down a rope!’ I cry to her, And can only pray I have been heard. |
