New RP
Alright, here's the deal. I'm going to make an RP.
First, let me say I apologize for the Wild Arms one I was going to do. As some of you know my computer died a while back. A couple months or so after I said I was going to start that... well, it took about that long to get the spells set up, character creation done, deciding how I was going to make monsters, how I was going to handle the guardians etc. etc. In short, I was done with everything but class balance tweaking when my computer died and I lost it all. All of it. Months of work. Yeah. That's why you never saw it. Anyway, the ideas are this. 1. Space Opera run on an Anime BESM D20. Any complications you have with the rules won't be a problem as that I'm on here and AIM whenever I'm not at work or with my girlfriend (over half the time), so I'm easy to get ahold of and ask for help. Dynamic sorcerors won't be allowed, however. I'll be able to get this started as soon as I get all my information together. A week tops. 2. Modern day/cyber punk (just a little bit past modern tech and no real magic) run on a bastardized all to hell version of L5R. Think of L5R but with guns and even less forgiving of being hit in battle. Also, the technique system will be different (I'll probably just let people design their own and then tweak them for balance). This will take me a bit to put together. A week to a month. Probably closer to a couple weeks. Month is if I get really lazy and someone needs to kick me in the head, or have trouble figuring out a few specifics. 3. Wild Arms. This one is only happening if I get lots of interest OR someone agrees to help me with the parts I didn't like (making a wild arms spell list compatible with my system, mostly), as that redoing all the same work again doesn't really appeal to me. Although, if I do do this, you'll be able to design your own special moves, use certain skills and class abilities to know things other characters don't (through PMs or IMs if I have you on AIM), and there will be lots of other interesting things. It really was a nice system. I hate that I lost it. I may also do this under BESM, which will be a little harder to understand and not quite as flexible with character creation, if I get no help and this is what you folks want. If I end up doing it in D20, it can go up about as fast as the space opera, I'll just need help figuring out magic. If I do it all over again, a month or more. It'll be worth the wait. Also, if someone wants to help me with this, I could run one of the other RPs while getting the system set up for this one. 4. Old School High Fantasy. This will be run under BESM, and will involve a massive pre-made race selection, as well as the ability for people to design their own races. I'll need help to handle the magic in it, though. Preferably from someone like Dragonsbane, Dante, or Phoenix Flame, whom I know have experience with systems like this. The rules I have for BESM just mention that you can make or transport in any spell you wish from another D20 game. I don't know enough about other D20 systems to know what would be fair here. This can go up as soon as I get one of the aforementioned people to help me, and get the pre-made races put together. Probably just over a week. The plot, regardless of which, will be mostly the same. You'll be bounty hunters/mercs/urban soldiers/dream chasers or whatever. While the systems will be pretty rigid, the plot will be the opposite. I will probably present something resembling a unifying force if the RP goes on awhile and you gain enough recognition as mercs (as that's pretty much what they all are) to warrant it. However, before then, I'll allow other people to present their own missions for a chapter or two, and GM everything but the rolls if I trust them enough (although I'll retain veto power), etc. or just PM me suggestions about missions, as detailed or vague as they want, which I'll use if they're at all good. And, again, in any of those systems, if you don't get it, just ask me. If you still don't get it, describe your character and how you want them to be (including a basic description of how you want his stats/skills/any abilities you want him to have/background) and I, or anyone I get to help me co-gm (which will mostly be doing rolls and discussing the future of characters and keeping me in line with the system), will make the character sheet out for you. Also: Dante, if you'd co-GM this, I'd be happy. You know more about D20 systems than I do, and if one of those is selected, I'll probably need your help. And, for some ungodly reason I trust you.
