Clerics are a DM's hell because they cast great doomy magic, yet don't suffer the squishy hp problem like proper mages. (1d8 hit dice instead of 1d4.)
I recall my party's cleric ran around with a load more armour and a keen adamantine longsword of spellstoring - neither of which are mage-like at all.

Funny thing is she's dead now.

That doesn't sound to good at all. Well, anyway... the lufeins will have to wait then unless the team suddenly gets dropped in that black hole to get a cypherstone.
