I don't know the answer to the first two, but I could do an explanation, read it carefully ^^ This can be the general guide for everyone if they forget anything. (gets into 'guide' mode)
----- Alright. The world is Spira and one thousand years ago from the events of FFX, this beast appeared: "Sin". Sin destroyed the technilogical city Zanarkind. And now it is the duty of the Summoner to 'defeat' Sin and bring the Calm. To 'defeat' Sin, the summoner must go on a pilgrimage and go to all the temples and get the power of the Faythes, or Aeons. Then they must journey to the ruins of Zanarkind and get the "final aeon" and summon it to 'defeat' sin. Summoning the final Aeon takes the summoner's life, so the summoner has to be willing to give their life. The guardians' job is to protect their summoner at ANY cost and help them along their pilgrimage. The reason why I said 'defeat' Sin, is because Sin is never REALLY defeated. Once a summoner summons the Final Aeon, Sin disappears for 10 year-The Calm. After a summoner successfully brings the calm, they are referred to as "High Summoners" (even though they are dead.) and they are really famous, along with their guardians who help them through. --- Spira Glossery: Sin- The large creature who reigns destruction upon Spira. Can only be killed by the Final Aeon. Yevon- The religion and the way of life throughout Spira. They frown upon Machina (machines) since they believe that is what caused Sin to appear in the first place. (since Zanarkind was such a technilogically advanced place) Fayths- Spirits who dwell in their respective temples. Summoners pray to the Fayth to be bestowed with their powers- the Aeons. Aeons- FFX's version of a summon. Only summoners can control Aeons. Blitzball- The most popular sport in Spira. It's like underwater soccer. Cloister of Trials- These are in each temple, leading to the Chamber of the Fayth. It's a puzzle of some sort that tests the Summoner and their Guardians. Only a summoner and their guardians are allows into the Cloister of Trials. Chamber of the Fayth- Only the summoner is allowed into this room where the summoner prays to the Fayth, recieving the power of the Aeons. It is taboo for anyone other than a summoner to enter, no matter what. Spheres- Kind of like movie recordings that you can watch pretty much anywhere. You can use them to record your own videos too. Fiends- Monsters. 'Sending'- A special task (dance) done by the Summoner when somebody dies. It sends the departed's soul to rest in the Farplane. If a summoner does not 'send' somebody, the person either turns into a fiend or if their spirit is strong enough, they can continue functioning as if they are alive. Unsent- A term for somebody who's soul has not been sent to the farplane yet through a sending. People, Titles, Races, and Organizations to know: Yevon- (once again) the basis of life for nearly all people. Believes the use of Machina is taboo. It is run by certain people known as "Maestors". Maestors- Only a select few can have this title. Pretty much the leaders of everyone. VERY famous. Al-Bhed- A race of people who use Machina. They go against Yevon's teachings. They firmly disagree with the role of the summoner, believing it is wrong for someone to give their life for everyone else's happyness. They belive there has to be another way to defeat Sin. Al Bheds have their own lanuage, and are generally hated by those who believe in Yevon. Guado- Monster-like people who have the ability to call up monsters to do their bidding (as I have gathered). The all live in Guadosalam, and guard the entrance to the Farplane. Crusaiders- A group of people who fight Sin wherever he appears and help people and towns that are destroyed by Sin. They occasionally work with the Al Bhed. Ronso- Big blue beast men. They live in and guard Mt. Gagazet. They follow the lead of their 'elder'. Each Ronso has a horn and it is a big sign of power and respect for the Ronso. Hypello- Stupid little blue things. That's all there is to it. Shoopuff- Big dinosaur-like creatures. Pyreflies- Spirits of sorts. Lady Yunalesca- The first summoner to defeat Sin. Maechen- A really annoying old guy who likes to prattle on. (yes, he's still alive.) Places in Spira (in order) Besaid- Home to the temple where summoners recieve Valefor. A small village on a small island. Kilika- Not much bigger than Besaid and home to the temple of Ifrit. Luca- Blitzball central. Home to the blitzball stadium. A fairly big city. Mihen Highroad/Mushroom Rock Road- Road leading from Luca to Djose. Djose- Mountanious region and home to the temple of Ixion. Moonflow- Beautiful waters where pyreflies gather at times. Can cross the moonflow by use of a Shoopuff. Guadosalam- Home of the Guado. Guards the entrance to the Farplane. -Farplane- Where souls go to rest. People can go there (not very far into the farplane) and wish to see a loved one and the pyreflies will react to create an image of the loved one. Thunder Planes- Large planes where it is storming all the time. The lightning towns have long gone out of use because of neglect, making passage though the Thunder Planes dangerous. Macalania Woods- Woods leading to the Calm Lands, Bevelle, and Macalania Temple. Home to the temple of Shiva. Bevelle- The largest city in Spira and the center of the Yevon religion. The Maestors usually reside here. Home to the temple of Bahamut. Calm Lands- The place where Summoners call upon the Final Aeon to defeat Sin. A rather large grassy piece of land. Home to the cave where you can get Yojimbo. (an optional Aeon) And a temple where you can get the Magus Sisters (more optional Aeons) Gagazet- Holy mountain which is one of the last trail for Summoners. Very cold and many summoners die while trying to make it up. Zanarkind- The holy city, just in ruins now. It is swarming with Pyreflies now. Home to where you recieve the Final Aeon. Not much is known about Zanarkind by normal people. Bikanil (sp) Island- A desert island where the Al Bhed's Home is. Home is the city where the Al Bhed live. (yes, it's called 'Home' ) 'Home' may or may not exist yet. Since Cid "brought them together, gave them their home"... and if this is before Cid...... The Aeons Valefore- Large bird-like aeon. Wind Element Ifrit- (you should know) Fire Element Ixion- Large horse/ram/I-don't-know-what-the-hell creature. Lightning Element Shiva- (once again, you should know) Water/Ice Element. Bahamut- (you should know this one too) Large dragon-like creature. Neutral Element. Yojimbo- Dumb samurai-like aeon. Kinda like a retarded Odin. The Magus Sisters- Can only get them after finding all of the other Aeons. Three bug-like girls. Very powerful. Anima- Doesn't exist yet, since Seymour has yet to exist. Whew. I think that's everything. I hope I didn't miss anything.
