I was in a military school for what you guys in the US know as "Jr. High". As you might imagine, discipline was a fundamental factor. And as such, not one, but a set of uniforms were required to accommodate to certain situations. In total, I had five different uniforms. I had to wash them, clean the metal emblems, clean my shoes, get the cap ready depending on the situation (it had a motif on the front that could be removed), gloves, boots and a whole lot of stuff.

While I'm certainly not a better person because I was successfully able to get a uniform ready every single day, Monday to Friday, and stay clean since seven in the morning to six in the afternoon, it does help you administer time. The requirements were needed to maintain certain order. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a way to motivate a student to have a discipline in what they do, an agenda, some sort of order, because there can be consequences, and I'm not talking about getting a sanction from the commanders. Rather, being late someplace because you were unable to get ready on time, or didn't manage your time correctly.

No, having a uniform alone isn't going to that much for you. It's the motivation behind having a uniform; a complement to something that will help you as a whole.

This could rather seem like I'm "one of those fascist bastards", too. I say it's just "on of those culture shock moments". Formation.
