Volcano+Lightning FTW
I'm guessing most people have heard that a volcano erupted in Chile last week. Interestingly enough, just a month ago I was there for a conference and only staying about an hour drive away from the volcano that erupted.
However, the coolest thing was this picture here. A lightning storm collided with the plume of ash to create the flaming lightning ball of death shown below. It may well be one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. It evokes fear, awe, power, and elegance all at the same time.
