Question: Why Do People In Movie Theaters Choose To Talk So Loud?
I have to admit, I'm not one for big fancy shindigs - I mean, at my high school prom I was thinking that it would be so much better if I could just have all my friends at my place with a pizza.
I mean, I go to see Casino Royale when it comes out. I planned to do a little shopping at the mall, pick up a new collared shirt, grab a video game or two - then I see that a James Bond movie was playing - and I was like "Dude, James Bond." It was the first Bond movie that I saw in theaters, and I was a little psyched. So I pay my $8 and get in to the flick, and I take that two hours as the defining moment of my movie watching career - don't watch movies with people. I enjoy going to the theater. I like concerts. But... I mean - when someone sitting next to you is going over the lines with the on-screen characters? (Seriously; Daniel Craig looked at the screen and said 'Bond. James Bond.' And the guy beside me totally said it too.) And the two people sitting on the other side of the theater? Yeah, I can hear you. You're not whispering. I don't think anyone else wants to know about that E! interview that Daniel Craig and the chick who wasn't James Bond was on. I mean, why do annoying people tend to be more annoying in a situation where it just becomes unbearable? I'm asking here - I just know that there doesn't seem to be anyone who particularly irks me at any moment other than when I'm in a crowd, trying to enjoy something, or some odd thing. Why is that? |
