Fighting a Battle
In past several months, my life has been filled with challenges. Feeling lonely and irritable, I turned to smoking in hopes of relieving my stress. It turns out that smoking is just another source of stress when I try to quit. Its bad for my health, and a dirty habit all of its own. Also, its putting money directly into the pocket of "Uncle Sam," keeping miserable programs like public education and free abortion clinics running full strength. It also takes time to do and fall under the influence of, time that could be better spent having some sort of pixelated or MIDI composing project. What I feel will help is some encouragement from my new set of peers here at NPF, or perhaps a set of challenges or games that involve avoiding the daily ritual of nicotine intake.
Any and all ideas are welcome, even if they're crazy or seem worthless. I am an addict, and any addiction we can share on these forums would be healthier and more constructive. If you'll join me in this battle, thanks. Something is bound to work, and I'll be damned to a painful, shortened life as a chimney if I don't try. |
