Bells Review: Boom Blox Bash Party!
Fuck yeah! Usually i try to review lesser known, "fringe" games and imports... for example, i'm working my way around a copy of Densha De Go 3 (the Subway simulator!). So, why am i talking about this game that needs little to none introduction? Because it's awesome! Done by no other than Spielberg himself, the game is a full on Puzzle challenge, "jenga with dynamite" that doesn't try to be anything else except a really robust offering and a puzzle game that can only be done right in the Wii. So that makes Spielberg a better filmmaker, writer, game developer and Wii Supporter than myself.... SPIELBEEEEERG!!!! But i digress... I don't have to go on a Point by Point review. The game is a tight solid package completly worth of it's $36.99 (at amazon) Price tag! The Graphics are Cute looking and fitting with the "family party game" theme, but not without it's polish. The audio is simply, non itnruse and "peppy" enough to make the ride enjoyable. Even the little tidbits your avatar and other on screen characters can shout at times. The gameplay simply works. Aim at the right point, Hold A, trust your wiimote towards the TV (WITHOUT LETTING GO OF IT YOU MORON! What the hell!!! Now look at what you did!! damn... that looks expensive.) When on other games you would simply trust your wrist, with Boom Blox you actually feel purpose and a "little rush" on making a full fledge pitch it's akin to pressing "B" on pokemon... it doesn't do anything. But you still feel like it raises your chance of capture.... that sort of rush. The premise is very very basic. It's jenga with explosives, and virus, and monkeys in space... you just throw your stuff at some crap on top of some things and shit flies all over the place and you get points and you feel a little warm inside for it! It's that simple really... The content in this game is Neigh endless... not only it comes with Hundreds (over 300 i belive) very unique puzzles, it has an Editor (a very powerful one too) and free, fast, DLC made by users. You earn scores and medals for your efforts, and that adds to the replayability, as you will find satisfaction in beating your own scores. Not only that, but you can also play Co-Op and Versus, which adds even more to the mix! This game is totally worth a buy! And you should give it a try... Also, sadly, my wii is not Hooked to the net. Nor i can record footage of me playing (but i'm looking into it), so i can't show you my greatest feat in the game so far.... i made Warbot with the Editor. It's THAT flexible. .... and Tossing Baseballs at Warbot is amusing.... yeah i said it! So, that's it really! If you have the chance, don't miss it. Grab this now! If you guys have any questions about the game, ask away! |
