Gintama: A show that smart and sexy people watch

Anyone else here a fan of Gintama? It's a show that's mostly comedy which parodies the modern shounen.

The setting is Japan at the end of the Edo period, when it's isolationist borders are forced open by aliens (as opposed to America and the forces of the west.) A massive war is fought, but ultimately the aliens (called Amanto) suceed in taking forcing Japan into submission.

Some years later, a surviving Samurai looks for odd jobs to pay his rent, and so the show begins.

It may sound fairly clustered and dramatic, and the first few episodes tend to be pretty hit or miss, but once you get past 20, it turns into a reliably fun rollercoaster ride of a parody.

Definitely suggested.
