I believe he intends on having the ribbon say something on it. A bible verse or someone's name, perhaps.
Edit: Digital. Haven't cleaned it up yet to do shading and stuff, but this is the outline. It was difficult to keep it somewhat anatomically correct while keeping up with his desire for more feathers here and there. :I Last edited by TDK; 01-24-2011 at 01:38 PM. |

I drew this earlier this evening and I'm ridiculously proud of it. I still struggle with the female form, so this was somewhat of a personal triumph for me.

I did an art and I am not ridiculously proud of it, but I thought I'd share, anyway.
That's a nice drawing, TopHat. Worth being ridiculously proud of.

So it's been a while since I posted anything related to Ruby:
This isn't actually Ruby, though. More of a spin-off. I had an idea for a character named Wilf (short for Wilfred) who uses fire, ice, lightning, and water magic and decided that such an old name deserves an old setting. So Wilf's as-yet unnamed game is going to be a Ruby spinoff and maybe its own series after that if I can decide something to do with it. As you can see, unlike Ruby, the color palette's been blown open on the icons. What you see there are the elements available in the game, which Wilf will have to rely on others to fully access. Also, numbers 1-4 for casting and the full range of Wilf's glove weapon icons, since weaponry is going to be a bit more specific to individuals this time around what with having a named character in the story. There are also other graphical and systemic changes, including the replacement of the ability dots as the casting block to the star you see there. Icons have been heavily repurposed, with the ice icon being the one for earth spells in Ruby, and earth being the brown crescent for lack of anything better (which is fine, since it looks nice enough). Changes have also been made to the character sheet to clean up the resistances section, as well as more damage types having been added. A lot of the systems will just plain be handled differently, especially magic and classes. I also changed some of the item icons and while some items will be the same, others will be different. I also don't plan on doing a ton of fancy skins with this one, since Wilf will have a different focus (although that focus has yet to be solidified). Basically, this is Wilf's story more than that of any kingdom as a whole. Although maybe I could do something in his elements. Hmmm... HUGELY LATE EDIT-BUMP: Guess who should have been doing homework for the last half hour~! I've decided against putting Bit into NES colors for now. But that says nothing about how to display what I have, and me being a huge nerd, I decided to make a miniature handheld just for him. Yes, I know it's a squashed Game Boy with no Select button, but dammit, those are the buttons I'll need and I kept wiggling my hands in front of my screen like a fool to place everything where it would be easily accessible on a real unit, so SHU'UP! :P It comes in various flavors of Game Boy screen colors. Or close to it. I'm being lazy and using the NES palette for all but the full-on 2-bit thing that you guys helped me decide on for a "final" ages ago. This color scheme, of course, emulates the original Game Boy's just for the purpose of this example. Other schemes include Pocket (gold), Light (with the Indiglo lit), Color (only with no color, just the silver BG), and Advanced (backlit). Under different names, of course. If I'm making this thing using the Game Boy resolution, I may as well offer all the color schemes, ne? Pretty much the whole thing is hand-pixeled, so I know there are jaggies, especially on the circular buttons, but it saves heartache in many ways dealing with them. Keyboard scheme will be WSAD, Space for Start, Alt for A, and Ctrl for B.

It occurs to me that I draw MGS fanart too much
After working on a drawing project for 8-9 hours straight yesterday, I decided to relax by drawing more.
